Former Liverpool winger Lazar Markovic has joined UAE side Baniyas FC after leaving Turkish side Gaziantep.
Markovic, now 30, play 30 matches for Gaziantep last season, scoring three goals and providing five assists, but was not offer a new contract at the end of the season and had to leave the team.
UAE side Banijas have successfully convince the former Serbian international to join them on a short-term deal until 2025, and he was officially unveil on Monday.
For Lazar Markovic, he broke through at Benfica before moving to Liverpool in 2014, but fail to live up to his potential and was loan out to Fenerbahce, Sporting Lisbon, Hull City and Anderlecht before moving permanently to Fulham.
Then in 2019, he returned to rebuild his confidence สมัคร ufabet at Partizan in his home league before moving to Gaziantep two years ago.
The move to the UAE league will see Markovic reunite with Portuguese coach Joao Pedro Souza, who was Marco Silva’s right-hand man at Hull City.
